The roots of Veteran LED began in early 2014 when Founder, Chris Rawlings noticed energy being wasted in old, run-down aircraft hangars. After some research he found there was one recurrent theme: LED lighting and controls.
The company originally aimed to only do business with the federal government, but quickly realized there was a need in the commercial market as well. “After the first project was completed, we knew we were on to something. The energy savings was tremendous.”, says Chris, regarding the Tobacco Row Complex in downtown Richmond, VA.
The company now occupies locations in Dallas, TX and Richmond, VA, and opening an office in Raleigh, NC in 2019. With over 200 projects completed across a dozen states, VLED has a proven model that seems to work for customers of all sizes. “The Veteran LED model is compelling to such a wide variety of businesses because they understand our engineered studies. We stay ahead of the curve with technologies, and really tailor each solution for our customers. ” says Joe Hoffman, Dir. of Operations at VLED.
VLED works with building owners, property management groups, architects, and contractors alike, often assisting in capturing financial incentives for energy projects and providing other ancillary services for contracts.
Veteran LED understands the specific hardships endured by veterans, transitioning military members, and their families, and strives to work with veterans for job placement and partnering with other veteran-owned businesses where suited. When choosing Veteran LED, you are supporting the lives of veterans in and around your community.
VLED continues to give back to the veteran community through numerous non-profits and associations including Tech for Troops, the IVMF-EBV Program, and “BourBiz” events that support veterans and military spouses.
